Western Day!

It's Rodeo time here, and Anna's school celebrated today by having them dress up in Western clothes!  Which is great and all, but Josh and I were a little unprepared.  Sad to say it, but Anna doesn't have any western clothes!  How is that even possible?  All I can blame it on is the fact that western clothes can be expensive, and she grows ridiculously fast...

So, since I'm on bed rest, Josh went after work yesterday to pick out a shirt for her to wear.  I knew he shouldn't have gone alone...he really can't help himself when he shops for Anna.  She got a whole new outfit, including a hat and boots!  Talk about ridiculously cute.

New Bikes!

I wanted to get Anna a new tricycle for Christmas soooo bad.  She's got an old hand-me-down from my sister's girls, but it's a little finicky (probably due to lack of care on our part) and maybe still just a little too big for her.  She's never been able to get it to work, and instead she always wants us to just push her around on it, which is exhausting after a while.  Josh didn't want to get the new trike because they can only go around and around the fire pit on the patio, or ride in the street, which just freaks us both out a little.

Well....Big Momma didn't know that trikes were off limits!  :)  Anna was so pumped about her new bike, and Wallace got one too!

She was determined to get this down!

Sadie and Lily were here to make the delivery, and teach them how to ride...or at least attempt to.  It was so cute!

This was after she returned from corner time...  totally devastated.

But....she let Lily have a ride on the back!  That's progress people!

Wallace still hasn't master pedaling (his legs need to grow just a bit).

Oh...and so far all we've managed to do is go around and around the fire pit.  :)

Baby Larson #3!

So...there's a lot that can suck in this world, but your 3-year-old turning off the computer right when you've just about finished typing up a post, but not yet saved it....really blows.  :(

I left my last doctor's appointment with the dreaded bed rest note for work...but really, this isn't all that bad.  When it happened with Anna (at 28 weeks), it was all just a really scary shock.  When it happened with Wallace (at 27 weeks) I was sort of in disbelief after trying so hard to be careful for the whole pregnancy.  I remember thinking "How could this happen again!!!"  With this one I've learned none of this is caused by something I'm doing...I just have a faulty uterus that tries to evict my babies while they still need a little more time to cook.  I'm fortunate that bed rest appears to do the trick, and I have been able to carry the babies not quite to term, but pretty close.  And I feel very lucky that I made it to 30 weeks this time before going on bed rest!  Although the baby is still tiny, we are out of the woods for all sorts of scary things that can happen when you have a micropreemie.  And since I thought all along that this was a possibility, I've been saving all sorts of good stuff to watch on the DVR for some time now.  :)

So, yesterday I decided to give taking my own maternity pictures a try.  I can't really go anywhere, and with the tiny backyard, I just decided to take some seated on the patio rather than standing with the fence in the background.

I never claimed to be photogenic, but there's just something extremely humbling about trying to get a decent photo of yourself when you are at your largest size...  It's difficult, and 99% of the pictures look like crap.  I had a tough time getting the camera to focus on me and not everything else in the yard, but I think I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.  After culling and culling and getting Josh's opinion, I found 2 keepers.  And then Anna walked up while I was editing them and started laughing and actually said, "Haha!  That's funny!"  Seriously?  Did she really just say that?  And then she accidentally hit the power button on the computer...

So here goes...  Baby Larson #3 is due at the end of March.  If we make it that far it will be a small miracle, but it'd be exciting to get to bring home a really big baby!

Not quite the weekend we had planned

This weekend Josh and I had planned to take the kids to the zoo.  Brittney and Duncan got us an annual family pass and the weather is super nice, so it seemed like the perfect idea.  Well...that was until Josh brought home this cold from work.  Although we haven't been officially diagnosed, I'm fairly certain this is the flu.  He's about a day ahead of me with it, and that seems to be working out because as he feels remotely better I start getting worse and visa versa.  Just praying this is over soon.  The kids are so bored with us.  They both got their flu shots, and Josh and I were stupid...so they are pretty  much running circles around two zombies right now.

So, yesterday, while he was trying to sleep it off and before I went downhill fast, I got some cute pics of the kids in the backyard.  It was one of the first days in a month that it was nice enough for them to go outside.  :)

Anna found the only flower still in existence in the back yard and quickly picked it.

She then got all protective of it.  :)

I've been meaning to try to take some maternity shots of myself for a while now.  I figured I'd do it as soon as I went on bed rest, but that just hasn't happen yet.  I am honestly shocked every time I walk away from my doctor's appointment, and I'm still free to live my life like a normal person.  This is the first time I've been in my 3rd trimester and not on bed rest.  :)

So, I decided to attempt a camera setup similar to what I learned in my photography class for still life...but this isn't really still life since I have a heartbeat.  :)  Since I pulled out the tripod Anna got to take on her normal role of remote button pusher.  She gets so excited about this!

Notice Josh is in a downhill phase with the "flu" right now.  "/

Here's me attempting to be a little serious.  I think I look more like "holy crap....#3..."

And that's about it.  Josh got tired of hearing the camera shutter and kicked us out.

So, I probably should have worn a white shirt or something...I look bigger from the side, but honestly, this kid is just not sticking out that much.  Makes me think it's a girl!  Anna's already decided it's a girl.  I haven't pulled out all of the pink clothes just yet, but the two of us are probably going to be in a little bit of shock if it ends up being a boy.  :)
