Photographing my kids and whatever else strikes me
This is a space for me to display my budding photography skills and also brag a little (maybe a lot) about my kiddos!
Wallace got his first grown up, sit in a chair at the barber shop hair cut today! Apparently I'm not allowed to go near his head with clippers or scissors anymore. "/
So, I'm a little bummed that Josh took him while I was at work, and I wasn't able to take a million pictures of it happening... :( But I did manage to get him to pose for me quite a bit this evening! And it sounds like they had some good guy time while they were out.
Little James Monroe made his arrival into the world yesterday! Rachael was a real trooper and made it through pretty much a full day of labor... I'd say it was worth it! :) James is adorable! I had so much fun visiting up at the hospital today, and it sounds like I had just missed the crowd, which was great for me...lots of baby holding time!
Check out the baby low jack. It's an awesome thing and all, but I've seen where other hospitals put it around their ankle, and that's got to be better than the umbilical cord... "/

Anna started school this week. Last year she absolutely loved the little preschool that our church runs, and her teacher was awesome! I was honestly a little worried that she would totally freak out when we walked her into a different classroom this year. She didn't even bat an eye at it. She just walked right in, hung her bag up on a hook, and was totally ready to get started!
Homegirl walked around the house with her backpack on all morning long. I had to pack it up while it was on her back. :) She was just a bit excited...
It seems like everyone gets a picture a picture of their kiddos in front of their front door... Figured I'd follow suit. :)
Nothing too exciting's been happening around here lately, so I thought I'd just post some pics I'd gotten of Anna and Wallace recently.
Wallace's hair is growing out again (since I scalped him with the clippers a couple of months ago). I've decided to give hair gel a try. His hair is so coarse it just sticks straight up.
It was a cinnamon roll kind of morning. :)

Lots of sandbox time lately.
This past weekend my good buddy Rachael had her baby shower up in Dallas. And since she lives near me now, I got to hitch a ride with her! So much better than driving... I think since I started riding the bus to work years ago my driving skills have really suffered. "/ It was nice to have company for the long ride too! Me, Rachael, her two dogs... :) My dogs have always been absolutely horrible inside the vehicle, so I was a little nervous when she said they were riding along as well. Daisy and Roscoe were actually fabulous car dogs!
So, the lighting in the venue where we had the shower wasn't fabulous, but I managed to get a few good pics I thought I'd share. :) Maybe someday I won't feel the need to preface my posts with notes about the lighting...but I so far I can't get past it. "/
Rachael's aunt made some beautiful flower arrangements for the table!

Fortunately, there weren't any goofy baby shower games to be played! Instead we wrote inspirational messages on diapers for those late night changes! :)
Rachael made out like a bandit! She's so ready for this baby, and his room looks awesome! I'm so excited for her!
I'm fairly certain this was the cutest gift she received! Who doesn't love a hatching dinosaur for a geologist!
There was a fabulous turnout, and the food was awesome! This was a great shower!
Since Jen and Brittney came all the way from Alaska for the shower, we all decided to go over to Brittney's family's new house and spend more time together. So what if her whole entire family was there for a 2-year-old's b-day party! We just joined right on in. :)
I pulled out my camera and got some shots of the birthday girl (Landrie), but before I get to her, I have to mention her big sister Preslee... Homegirl and I bonded! She's three, just like Anna, and since Anna had been with Josh's family since the previous Wednesday, I was in dire need of some little girl time. Preslee fit the bill perfectly! She was just adorable, and ended up calling me "Aunt B's sister". :) She might have been just a little bit confused, but I was so excited that she liked me too!!! I even got a really big hug from her when I had to leave.
